Open the Ember VPN app and tap the Connect button. The app will automatically select the fastest server based on your location. You can also choose a specific server from the server list before connecting. On first use, iOS will ask you to allow VPN configuration - tap Allow to proceed.

Tap the server name or the globe icon on the main screen to open the server list. Browse available locations, check live ping times, and tap any server to connect. If you're currently connected, Ember will seamlessly switch to the new server.

Kill Switch is a safety feature that blocks all internet traffic if the VPN connection drops unexpectedly. This prevents your real IP address from being exposed. Ember's Kill Switch operates at the network extension level, meaning it works even if the app crashes. It is enabled by default and can be toggled in Settings.

Split Tunneling lets you choose which apps use the VPN and which connect directly to the internet. For example, you might route your browser through the VPN while keeping your banking app on your direct connection. This feature is available to Pro subscribers only. Go to Settings > Split Tunneling to configure per-app rules.

Since all subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store, you need to cancel via Apple:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find Ember VPN and tap it
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Your Pro access will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

The free tier includes access to 3 server locations, 500 MB of data per day (resets at midnight UTC), and speeds up to 10 Mbps. Ad blocking and split tunneling are not available on the free tier. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited access.

Yes. We do not log your browsing activity, DNS queries, traffic content, or originating IP address. We collect only the minimum data needed to run the service: a device identifier for your account and connection timestamps for capacity planning. Connection metadata is automatically deleted after 30 days. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

VPN speed depends on several factors: your base internet speed, the distance to the selected server, and current server load. Try these steps:

1. Switch to a server closer to your location
2. Check if you're on the Free tier (limited to 10 Mbps)
3. Try disconnecting and reconnecting
4. Ensure your base internet connection is working properly

Ember VPN encrypts your connection and routes traffic through our servers. While this may allow you to access content from different regions, we do not guarantee compatibility with any specific streaming service. Some services actively block VPN connections.

Install Ember VPN on your new device and open the app. If you're signed in with the same Apple ID, your subscription will be restored automatically. If it doesn't restore, go to Settings within the app and tap Restore Purchases.
